Jane Weber Evergreen Arboretum

The Jane Weber Evergreen Arboretum is a nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving and enhancing one of Clark County’s original homesteads and the home of John Stanger and family. Stanger moved onto this property at the time the Hudson Bay Company was driving settlement in the region, well before Washington State was envisioned.

Dr. Vinson and Jane Weber made the property their home in the mid-20th century and made the gardens its focal point. Jane was a beloved high school teacher and passed away in 1973. Dr. Vinson bequeathed the property to the Clark College Foundation in honor of his wife after living there for more than 50 years.

In its search for a long-term plan for the property after his passing, the college determined that the Jane Weber Evergreen Arboretum nonprofit could best meet the challenge. For the past 10 years as the mechanics of managing this unique historic property have been put in place, the Parks Foundation of Clark County has been a reliable and trusted partner in reinforcing our vision, handling funds for special projects and encouraging the Jane Weber Evergreen Arboretum’s success.
