The Parks Foundation of Clark County is excited to welcome Kaiser Permanente as a new VIP Business Member and supporter of Silver Trails, a growing program helping older adults get outside, stay active and experience parks and natural areas throughout our community.

Silver Trails is a partnership between the Parks Foundation of Clark County, City of Vancouver Parks, Recreation and Cultural Services, and Community in Motion. The program provides guided outings for adults 65 and older, including transportation that makes exploring local parks and trails more accessible.

The program has quickly become a favorite among participants, with outings regularly filling to capacity.

“Kaiser Permanente is proud to partner with Silver Trails to help older adults stay active, connected, and engaged in their communities. Partnerships like this help people thrive and reflect our commitment to building healthier communities for all.”

Kaiser Permanente has committed $2,500 in support of the Parks Foundation, with $2,000 directly supporting Silver Trails and $500 establishing Kaiser Permanente as a VIP Business Member through 2027.

Their support comes at an exciting time for Silver Trails. Following the success of the program, the Parks Foundation is working with its partners on plans to expand Silver Trails in 2027, including adding outings from Firstenburg Community Center. The expansion would allow the program to reach more older adults and provide more opportunities to experience the parks and natural spaces that make Clark County special.

“We’ve seen firsthand how much these outings mean to people,” said Sean Janson, Development Director for the Parks Foundation of Clark County. “Silver Trails isn’t just about taking a walk. It’s about getting outside, meeting people, staying active and discovering places in our community that participants may not otherwise have the opportunity to experience. Kaiser Permanente understands that connection between community and health, which makes this partnership a great fit.”

Kaiser Permanente’s VIP Business Membership also represents another important way local businesses can invest in parks and their community.

Businesses and individuals interested in supporting the Parks Foundation are encouraged to become members and join a growing group of community partners helping make parks, trails and outdoor opportunities accessible to everyone.
