The Columbia River Renaissance Trail just got a little more magical!
Renaissance Pointe, 2111 S.E. Columbia River Drive (South of Oswego Grill), is a new public gathering place and scenic viewpoint at the eastern end of the popular waterfront trail.
The vision for this space was brought to life to honor the memory of fallen Clark County Sheriff Jeremy Brown and was supported by generous community donations and grants to the Clark County Parks Foundation. The City of Vancouver will maintain the space.

VANCOUVER — A new public gathering space along the Columbia River waterfront will officially open with a ribbon cutting ceremony at 4 p.m. Thursday, April 9, at 2111 S.E. Columbia River Drive.
Renaissance Pointe, located at the east end of the Renaissance Trail, was developed through a partnership of private organizations, public agencies and philanthropic support. The site is intended to serve as a community space for recreation, reflection and connection along the waterfront.
The project is rooted in a deeply personal story. Following the loss of Deputy Jeremy Brown, a vision emerged to create a meaningful public space along the waterfront—one grounded in reflection, connection and community. Jill Brown, wife of Deputy Jeremy Brown and co-founder of Alchemy Partners, was instrumental in bringing that vision to life, leading the effort that ultimately shaped Renaissance Pointe into a community space for all. “This project began as something deeply personal, but it quickly became something much bigger than me. Renaissance Pointe exists because an entire community showed up—and my hope is that it becomes a place where people can gather, reflect, and feel connected to something beyond themselves,” said Jill Brown.
Project partners include Alchemy Partners, Columbia Business Center, Otak, the City of Vancouver and R&O Construction, with major funding provided by the Ed and Dollie Lynch Fund. “Our involvement with Renaissance Pointe is not a place of sadness. It is an expression of our sincere gratitude to Jill and the Brown family for the positive impact Jeremy Brown made on the lives of others. That his life was shortened by criminals saddens us. That his life is celebrated with Renaissance Pointe elates us. We have been incredibly moved in being asked to assist in this well-deserved effort for Jeremy and his family.” Said Michael Lynch.
The Parks Foundation of Clark County supported the effort as a philanthropic partner, helping coordinate resources and bring the project to completion. Foundation Board President, Cyndi Holloway, had this to say, “The Renaissance Pointe project marks a significant milestone for the Parks Foundation. Contributing to this space reflects our renewed commitment to building a community where everyone has access to safe, clean, and vibrant parks and trails. This project isn’t just transforming our landscape—it’s shaping our future. A heartfelt thank‑you to Jill Brown for inviting us to help bring this vision to life and to the many donors that made this a reality.” The project expands public access and adds to the growing network of parks and trails along Vancouver’s waterfront.
A community gathering will follow the ceremony at McMenamins on the Columbia Waterfront, where 15% of proceeds will be donated to the Parks Foundation of Clark County. For more information about the Parks Foundation go here: https://parksforclark.org/.
